A new puppy in the home is exciting for the whole family. Having some supplies on hand will help make it a smooth transition for both you and your puppy. Let’s look at some of the supplies you may want to include.

Your puppy will need dishes for food and water. These should be unbreakable and shouldn’t tip over easily. It’s less messy if puppy can’t grab them in his mouth to run around with them.

Puppy will need a bed, box or crate. A crate is great because it can serve as a place of confinement to keep puppy out of trouble as well as aid in housebreaking. Get a crate that will grow with your puppy.

Don’t forget to buy puppy food for your new pet. Puppy food should be fed for the first year of life. Even though an eight month old puppy can look like an adult, he still needs the nutrition of puppy food.

As your puppy grows you will want an adjustable nylon dog collar. Start with a nylon dog collar adjusted to it’s smallest, and let it out as the puppy grows. You could also get a designer nylon dog collar for special occasions.

Although young puppies will follow where you go, it won’t be long before you’ll want a leash. You can buy a nylon leash to match your puppy’s nylon dog collar. It is often handy to have several leashes so you can quickly grab one when pup needs to go outside.

Puppy food is another essential item for your list. Your new puppy will need to eat puppy food for her first year of life. This will help her grow into a healthy happy adult dog.

Puppies love to chew, and will chew on whatever they can find. It helps if you have some chewing toys to give pup in exchange for your shoes! And last of all, but most important, you will need lots of love and patience as you help your new puppy grow into a well-behaved adult dog.

New puppies are exciting! As you get ready for a new puppy in your home, you will want some dog supplies to make it easier for all. Jim Witt recommends navigating to Country Brook Design for quality dog supplies.
