how about a cocker spaniel

I have a soft coated wheaten terrier, he’s about 34 lbs (medium sized dog). Extremely friendly! Doesn’t shed, but is soooo soft, very cute. They start out dark brownish/reddish/blackish, but their coats turn a light “wheat” color. They love anyone and everyone. Lots of energy though, but a wonderful dog!

ell oh ell.
There are about 293808 breeds that are that size…
Take a breed quiz, never get a dog on looks.
Lastly, never buy from a pet store. (http://www.stoppuppymills.org)

There are all kinds of small dogs. You have toy poodles, jack russells, daschunds, chichuahua. Or you simply can go to your local humane society they no doubt have a few small dogs in need of a loving home.

You dont mention how small is to small, or how big is too big.
Also what grooming requirements ar you willing to take on? What activity level? Do you mind a shedder?
Any children in the home?

You should get a beagle because they can be tri-colored, black, white, and brown. Though, it is an average shedder. There are also Cocker Spaniels, types of poodles, Labradoodle (Laborder and Poodle), Lhasa Apso, Terriers. Here is a link that you could find the perfect dog and if you want to know more about it, this websites tell you about the breed.

A Boston Terrier!
In America they are often refferd to the Little Gentleman because they’re such a lovely breed . They’re not too small and not too big. They have a suttler face of pug and large pointy ears. I have only ever seen a a ”Tuxedo” version of them; Which is basically white bib, what paws and rest of body black, giving them a look of almost wearing tuxedo.
I’m not sure of all the facts but if you research them I’m sure they’ll be just what you want!

Hi Emily,
Yay, you’re getting a dog! You might want to first take a dog personlality quiz…like this one: http://www.petnet.com.au/selectapet.asp?at=43. What’s that you say? Well, it’s a quiz that matches your lifestyle and activity level and whatnot. From there they give you some options for dogs that might be good for you.
Why is this somewhat important? http://healing.about.com/od/askkim_qa/f/whatbreedog.htm
Well, I for one, love the look of border collie’s but they require too much activity for me and if I had one he/she’d be quite unhappy with me and vice-versa. Airedales are lovely dogs, but can be hard to handle so size is an issue. Terriers are spunky dogs, small to medium builds, which would drive me crazy with their antics. Beagles are cute, just ask Uno (http://images.google.com/images?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=IBMA,IBMA:2006-09,IBMA:en&q=picture+of+uno+dog&um=1&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title) who won Best in Show, but they’re a handful.
For fun: http://www.dog-names.org.uk/dog-quiz.htm
If you want to match your dog to your dog personality: http://www.quizmeme.com/dogbreed/quiz.php
Without doing a quiz, I’d suggest a minature schnauzer(http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rls=IBMA,IBMA:2006-09,IBMA:en&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=images+of+miniature+schnauzer&spell=1) if you like a dog that wooh-woo’s instead of heavy barking and is just a plain adorable looking dog.
If you want a smart small dog then you might want to check out a minature poodle http://images.google.com/images?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=IBMA,IBMA:2006-09,IBMA:en&q=images+of+miniature+poodle&um=1&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title
The ‘blond’ of the dog world, to me anyway, is the wheaton terrier; they’re so adorable http://images.google.com/images?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=IBMA,IBMA:2006-09,IBMA:en&q=images+of+wheaton+terriers&um=1&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title
Or you could stick with a bichon, probaly one of the cutest smaller dogs ever http://images.google.com/images?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=IBMA,IBMA:2006-09,IBMA:en&q=images+of+bichon&um=1&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title
Good luck with your search. I hope you find the dog that best suits you.

You get to see the world through the adorable puppy eyes of a Cavalier Charles Spaniel. Pictures, video clips, diary entries, blogging, and more… these Cavalier King Charles dogs are little celebrities in their minds, and deservedly so.
