Try ThePetCenter.com I know it has x-rays of dogs with dysplasia. You also may try workingdogs.com If they don’t have a picture they will have a way for you to evaluate it. Bless you for trying to help that poor animal!

Hip dysplasia affects the ball and socket joint of the hip and can only be diagnosed by xrays.
This site will give some hip dysplasia xray examples: http://www.thepetcenter.com/xra/hd.html .
Bless you for helping this pup in every way you can. Let us know how it goes!

Hip dysplasia needs to be diagnosed by a veterinarian. You can’t just look at him & tell ‘you have hip dysplasia.’ Radiographs are necessary to confirm it. If you contact the police, they’ll most likely refer you to animal control … because that’s what they’re there for.

I hate to say this but it’s kind of hard to tell without x-rays. You can look at a dog and watch how it moves, see if it looks like it’s having problems. Maybe even rotate the leg a little to see if the dog reacts out of pain or if you can feel popping, grinding and rubbing of bones. I have a 3 year old cocker spaniel, he is a puppymill dog, I bought him at a pet store knowing I was doing the wrong thing and that the dog would have problems in the near furure. We could tell by 18 months old that he was having a hard time getting up. We were right, his vet said he had hip dysplasia. I started feeling him a very high end diet with no carbs and high protien and he’s bouncing around like a healthy boy his age!

You can’t tell by just looking at the dog. The problem is in the hip joint and can only be seen on a x-ray. If the dog is having trouble walking, it could be hip dysplasia or any number of things like arthritis, broken bones, something stuck in its paw…

The police can not seize a dog just because it has hip dysplasia or arthritis because many dogs live with those inflictions everyday so no matter how many pictures or images you find there is nothing they can do. If animal control will do nothing the police are less likely to come out.
The only images you will find of a dog with hip dysplasia will be x-rays.
